Privacy policy
Short version: we collect as little as we possibly can. Long version below, in plain English.
Last updated: 9 October 2026
1. Who looks after your data
Personal data on this site is controlled by the operator of brackenarcade.com ("Bracken Arcade", "we", "us"). You can reach us about anything in this policy at [email protected].
2. What this site does not collect
Bracken Arcade has no accounts, no logins, no payments and no prize schemes. We never ask for your name, address, date of birth, card details or identity documents to use the games.
3. What is stored, and why
On your device
Our own code stores two small preferences in your browser's local storage:
- Age confirmation, so we don't show the 18+ check on every page.
- Your cookie choice (accepted or rejected), so the banner doesn't keep coming back.
These stay on your device. We can't see them, and you can delete them at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
When you email us
If you write to us, directly or through the contact form (all it does is launch your email program), we receive your email address, any name you include and the content of your message. It's used for one thing: answering you.
Technical data
Like any website, the server that hosts these pages may record standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, which page was asked for and when. That record exists for security and to keep things running; nobody uses it to work out who you are.
Embedded games
Each game is streamed into a frame from its outside developer's servers. Loading one means your browser talks to those servers, handing over technical details like your IP address, and the game might save its own play data in your browser. That processing is the responsibility of the game provider.
Advertising and measurement
Ad and measurement tags only wake up if you pick "Accept all" in the cookie banner. Once you do, such tags may set cookies or similar identifiers to measure visits and the performance of our advertising. See the cookie policy for details.
4. Legal basis
- Age check and cookie preference: our legitimate interest in running an adults-only site and remembering your choices, and where applicable, storage that is strictly necessary for a feature you asked for.
- Emails: our legitimate interest in answering messages people send us.
- Server logs: our legitimate interest in site security and upkeep.
- Advertising and measurement: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using "Cookie settings" in the footer.
5. How long we keep things
Local storage preferences remain until you clear them. Emails are kept only as long as needed to deal with your message and any follow-up, and are then deleted. Server logs are kept for a limited period by our hosting provider in line with its own retention practices.
6. Who we share data with
We don't sell personal data, and we don't share it for anyone else's marketing. Data may be handled by service providers who help run the site, such as our hosting and email providers, only for that purpose. If you accept advertising and measurement, the relevant tag providers will process data as described in the cookie policy. We may disclose information if required by law.
7. International transfers
The game studio, and any advertising or measurement providers you agree to, might handle data outside the EEA. In that case the transfer should be covered by appropriate safeguards under the GDPR, such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
8. Your rights
The GDPR gives you a solid set of rights. You can ask us to:
- show you whatever personal data of yours we hold;
- fix anything that's wrong;
- delete it;
- limit what we do with it, or stop altogether;
- hand it over as a portable file, if relevant.
You can also pull your consent whenever you like; that doesn't undo anything done before. Want to use one of these rights? Email [email protected]. Since we hold so little, most requests are quick to deal with.
9. Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, give us a shout first and we'll do our best to sort it. Either way, you're entitled to lodge a complaint with the Irish supervisory authority, the Data Protection Commission, at dataprotection.ie.
10. Children
Bracken Arcade is built for adults only, and we don't knowingly collect data from under-18s. Think a child has written to us? Tell us and the message gets deleted.
11. Changes
We'll update this policy if the way the site works changes, and we'll change the date at the top when we do.
